The world is in desperate need of the gospel, especially those in the mountain region of Nepal. This month in Nepal we are serving alongside another World Race squad with eight men. Altogether there are 11 men with one purpose- and that is to further the kingdom and bring people to Jesus. We have been loving “the least of these” the past seven months and this month is no different.
After much prayer and quiet time with God, we all feel led to trek into the Himalayas to witness to the unreached. We believe this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only connect with God through His creation, but to also share the gospel with the Nepali people who may have never heard about Jesus before.
In Matthew 5-7 in the sermon on the mount, Jesus brings his disciples to the mountains. God also led Moses and the Israelites through the wilderness. We have seen time and time again in the Bible the importance of getting away from the city and into nature. This will be a time spent with God in the wilderness, and throughout the trek we will have opportunities to share the love of Jesus with locals, travelers, and our guides.
With that being said, it’s illegal for foreigners to hike alone, so we had to go through a trekking company to allow us to pursue the calling God has placed on our hearts. It’s about $600 per person, which would include the guide, porters, lodging, food, etc. We believe that if God wants us in the mountains He will provide financially. I just ask that you prayerfully consider donating to our trip. If you don’t feel led to donate, we could use prayer for fundraising, but more importantly prayer that the people in the mountains would be eager and ready to listen to what we have to offer- and that is Jesus Christ.
