For the last two years i have had the privilege of serving under our incredible youth pastor Nub. He is one of the most influential people in my life and it has been such an honor to be a part of such a wonderful ministry.
One special aspect of our youth department is sunday morning services. All the kids meet at 9:30 and breakfast is served before each age group disperses to their respective sunday school classes. Nub is very passionate about kids being involved in sunday school. I also share that passion because sunday school is such an important part of our christian walk as we are surrounded by fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in a more intimate setting that allows us to be intentional in our learning.
One cool thing that Nub likes to do is joke around with the kids by telling them that Jesus is going to come back on a sunday morning and if they dont come to sunday school then they are going to be left behind so it is a great tool to use as motivation. As funny as it is, it is so true.
I began thinking to myself, Are we really living our life ready for Jesus to come back at anytime? I was so convicted by it because how often do we REALLY think about Jesus coming back? I personally do not think about it as much as i should. I mean are we really living our lives 100% ready for Jesus to return?
I am challenging myself and anyone reading this blog to look deep in your life and determine whether you are ready or not. He could come at any time and we have to be prepared. I thank Nub and his willingness to use a joke as such a tool of conviction and growth in my life.
LETS BE READY!!!!
