We capped off our time in Africa by spending a month in Francistown, Botswana, one of the two “cities” in Botswana. We worked with Claris and his wife Shirley, who pastor Riverside Church. For most of the month, our team split up each day to help teach a preschool class at Light of the World Academy, or one of the several homeschool classes in the area. I had a group of 10 6-year olds who were so fun, and I’ll miss them! The Lord definitely confirmed for me my love for kids and my hope to be a dad to some one day.
Our second week in Francistown, Claris led a Kairos Missions Course, which we had the privilege of attending. Kairos is an interactive study of the purpose and plan of God from Genesis to the end of the age. It focuses on the biblical, historical, strategic, and cultural dimensions of missions and seeks to align every believer’s worldview with God’s heart for the nations and mobilize the whole Church for His global mission. It was a really great class and it hammered home the point that all Christians have a role in God’s redemptive plan to reach the world with the gospel. Near the end of the month, my team and I took a road trip through Botswana and Zimbabwe to visit Victoria Falls. Definitely one of the highlights of the Race so far and something I’ll never forget!
Here is a video that my talented teammate Kirsten Reilly put together of our time in Botswana this past March. It was a great month, check it out! Enjoy!
