Reflection. The act of reflecting or the state of being reflected. An image; representation; counterpart. A fixing of the thoughts on something; careful consideration or meditation.

Reflection. A natural part of any journey, trip, or experience. And now as time is closing in on the end of the World Race January 2008 squad, here I am in the beginning of a process of reflection. In the next few weeks I will be posting blogs to continue to allow you to be a part of my trip as I finish out this year. It’s been a long journey and the time is nearing when I step off my last airplane of the year in Winnipeg, Canada. Up front I want to say that in the past 10 months I have not regretted anything whatsoever. Not one day of sitting with ants in my pants nor when I was so tired, ill, and over worked. It has all been worth the cost of giving up life in Manitoba for the year 2009! I do miss home, but I also miss the highlands of Thailand. I miss my friends, but I also miss the laboring pastors of Malawi. I miss my church family, but I also miss seeing the fire of the Vietnamese underground church. Bottom line is that I know I’m not of this world. I am not of the kingdom of this world. I am part of the Kingdom of God. My family is who I’m with. My friends are those I shake hands with. And my church is the body of believers no matter what skin color they wear.

There are so many things I could write and talk about. So I’ve decided to narrow my thoughts down to the top 5 lessons of The World Race experience according to Matt Peters. And so here they are:

Lesson #5 COMMUNITY
Lesson #4 FAITH
Lesson #3 PATIENCE
Lesson #2 IDENTITY

Lesson #1 IT’S NOT ABOUT ME!

My prayer is that this series will give you a better understanding of what this year as a whole has meant to me. A window of sorts into what my heart looks like now. You have followed my blogs all year hearing the stories, watching the videos and seeing my personal lessons. I thank you for your support. The end of the World Race is only the beginning of a NEW LIFE for me, so here’s how I got to this point…
