Greetings family and friends,

So here we are again, spring has sprung! I’ve often thought of spring as a welcome sign to change and new beginnings. The animals arise from their winter slumbers and the trees start to turn green, a new season is upon us. The snow that covered what was bleak and somewhat lifeless is now melted and cleared away for the new life to spring up!

And so as is with my walk in life, the next season is about to begin. On May 3rd I joined 4 others and moved out to Camp Nutimik to begin the camp season. This group will make up the leadership staff that will work alongside and lead the larger body of camp staff over the spring and summer months.

To give you more of an idea of my specific season ahead, I’m stepping back into a role in which I had left over a year ago to do the World Race. I’m resuming my position as the Outdoor Ed Director. That means for the next 4 months I will be working with school groups in providing outdoor skill instruction and programming. My summer will be filled up with weeklong canoe trips and multi-sport challenge camps. I’m honestly in constant awe and wonder of the blessing to be called back to camp ministry. I wasn’t planning on returning, but the Lord has another plan much greater than my own.

Over the last few years , the Lord has constantly been showing me more of his heart for teenagers. This in turn has captured me. I believe that is why I’m being called back to camp, to serve with my new understanding of love, service, and humility that I did not have a year ago. I’m encouraged and excited to jump right back in and give all of myself for another summer.

So, in my next step serving at camp I am now asking to join me in this ministry. I encourage you to continually pray for the campers to be drawn to the camp as well for the staff that will be ministering to God’s children when they come.

As most of you know, camp ministry is not a place for making money. In my plans of heading back onto the mission field this fall,

I’m asking you to also consider joining me financially as I strive to meet me fund-raising goals. The great news is that if your Canadian, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your gifts if you support me through Camp Nutimik’s Share-A-Wage program. Please hit click HERE or the “Contact Me” link on the upper left side of this blog if you wish to receive a tax-deductible form.

After the camp season, I will be spending 6 weeks in eastern Europe and Atlanta, Georgia for more involvement with the WR. In order to do so, I am in need of $2,200 for this 6 week trip.

The plan is to meet up with WR squads and Alumni in Europe for a time of teaching, encouragement, and fellowship. I’ll then stay there for 2 weeks listening to the Lord’s voice and going where He leads me.

I’ll then travel to Atlanta, GA to help out with the January 2010 Squad Training Camp. I’m heading down there to encourage them as they prepare for there own journey around the world!

So, I pray that you are encouraged and finding yourself in the Lord’s presence in this new season. Many of you are in the midst of seeding out on the farm and others are enjoying the warmer weather outside. Wherever you find yourself, I pray that you feel the Lord’s love and grace all around you! Until next time…
