me voy a Argentina!….is what it said on Eli’s facebook on March 5th.

If you remember my post called “Paco (a friend in need)” I shared about my buddy Eli’s next adventure down in Argentina! Well folks, he has officially landed in country and has begun his ministry there for the next 5 months. He left on his journey after completeing and passing his GMAT test which will get him into Business School come next fall. After much time spent studying and working, it has all paid off. The Lord has opened up a door and Eli is now walking into it!

Eli’s vision he told me for heading to Argentina in his own words….

My contacts are two missionaries from my hometown, Monroeville, Alabama,
who have been in Argentina for the last 20 years. They have invited me to join
them for a five month period to reach college students. However, my ministry
will not be for only a five month period. My time there serve as an investment
for a lifetime of ministry. While ministering to college students, I will also

• develop lifelong relationships with impoverished and marginalized families
• create a database of those families with their needs and wants
• improve my Spanish skills for on-going ministry purposes (by living with a
poor family or widow which in return the rent would help them economically)

When Eli returns, he’ll immediately start his next phase of education in Business. He’ll begin his MBA program at Samford University, which will help him in three main areas of business; negotiation, seeing market trends, and valuing a company. An MBA will allow him to financially aid the poor more effectively. After graduating, Eli will enter the business world with a vision: to minister to the corporate America and also use his business skills and resources to economically advance many poor families in Argentina. Aiding those families will definitely serve as a means to spread the gospel with not only words but actions.

And so, the reason I continue to update you on Eli is that he is still in need of alot of support. Financially as well as prayer and encouragement!  He landed in Argentina with $500 in his pocket. To make it through the next 5 months, he is in need of another $2,500.

Thanks for taking the time to read about Eli. He’s an amazing guy, that I’ve been blessed to spend 11 months traveling the world with. He’s pursuing the Lord with his new found passions, and gifts. He is a Son of God that perseveres, but we all know we are nothing without the Body. So please pray and consider about helping such a guy as Eli!
