Is it fair…

…that we sit around entertaining ourselves with t.v. and video games while children are being prostituted behind closed doors?

…that we consume every material option that comes our way while the widow and the orphan are stripped from life’s basic dignities because of a conflict that simply isn’t theirs?

…that there is a generation who is choking on their obesity while at the same time there are 30,000 children who will die today due to lack of food?

…that we have no problem spending $3-$4 on what is basically glorified tap water with fancy labels while communities die of disease because the water they have access to is foul and polluted?

…that we can sing and dance and jump around in our freedom and liberty while at the same time the slave remains captive out of sight and out of mind?

…that we can watch the news and pity those where the storm hit, the ground shook, or the waters rose  and feel sorry for them as we change the channel and get on with supper?

…that we can walk past the homeless man and and give him nothing in the assumption that he will spend it on booze, cigarettes, or suggest that he get a job when who are we to judge the prostitute, the alcoholic, the addict, or the criminal?

We SEE the imbalance and we cry out That’s not right; that’s not fair! And often that’s all we do, because for us to do any more
actually COSTS US SOMETHING!!

No matter who we are, your actions have consequence. But it’s the actions we DON’T do that often have the greatest consequence! When we forget about the needy we are robbing them! When we ignore the addict and the alcoholic we are neglecting their FREEDOM! When we ignore the cries of the slaves we are holding them captive! When we chase our own “American Dream” we are walking in selfishness!

I’ve continually been inspired by: I Heart Revolution! Check out their videos and maybe it’ll spark something deep within that you want to change your perspective, attitude, and ultimately your actions for! I keep wondering what this world would look like if we actually counted the cost and carried our crosses! I know I need to step it up!!
