Iquitos, Peru was a fun place to reflect back on. As a squad we had our hands involved in many different ministries once again. My own experience was a blessing as well. Everyday was a new day with many challenges but more importantly an opportunity to invest in lives once again. We once again partnered with a local church and got involved in their many ministries. We also helped them jump start some new ones as well.

The church we worked with was called Iglesia Berea. Berea was a small congregation in a more “rural” setting for what that is in the jungle. Teaching seminary, running a children’s program, visiting homes, youth ministry, and organizing church services were our daily routines. As a squad we pulled together and seeked the Lord and His will for our 2 weeks at Berea.

We as racers were blessed during this time to not only serve together as a World Race squad, but with our new friends in the jungle. Pastor Jorge was our ministry contact that hosted us for our stay in Iquitos. So through all of the ties and missionaries working alongside him we were blessed to meet some individuals crazy in love with the Lord that had also given up their lives to reach the unreached, serve the poor, and be a light in the darkness. Here’s a few pictures of people I will now call my friends from the Jungle.

Our amazing send-off at the airport as well left our new found friendships!

And so now as I write this blog (2 weeks later) I’ve heard from our American missionary friends of how things are going since our departure. The church has kept the children’s program which is now run by the youth group. They still have their 4 services a week. And the guys went up river with Jorge Montera to the ministry sites along the Amazon River!
