"RUN," I scream to the girls as an explosion of mice burst from the nest.  My God, they're everywhere!" The cocker spaniel named "Loti" springs into action and bolts for the scurrying creatures.  She catches them in her K-9 teeth and shakes them separateing vertibrae from spinal column.  The mice shriek as her teeth sink into them.  I grab a broom along with Thelma a Nicaraguan woman, and begin to swing for the fences.  I did not know mice could climb walls, but if those walls are cinder block these devils are up to the challenge.  Mouse bodies are flying this way and that, the dog is squealing with excitement, the Honduran lady is yelling everytime she sees one, our girls are standing in the door way dumbfounded, and some have even began to run for safety.  The site was sheer pandemonium…

5 minutes earlier…

"Yeah I think we got most of the items from this old building out.  But I would have sworn we would have seen atleast one rat, the signs are everywhere," I said.  We were cleaning out an old building and re organizing it.  We got to the last item in the room, an old refrigerator in the corner.  As I began to pull it out, mice began to poor out of it.  Thats when the room began a blur of fur, brooms, death, and emotions.

Might have been one of my favorite days on the race!
