Hey everybody long time no blogs. I’m super sorry that I’ve been a bit lackluster in my writings as of late. So don’t worry I’m alive, and Jesus is good. My squad and I have spent the last month in the Nelspurit/Whitriver area doing a variety of cool things. We’ve done door to door ministry, evangelism, feeding programs, hung out with kiddos, work projects, etc, so yeah that’s been super sweet. Our squad had a thanksgiving meal last thursday, and most of us entered a food coma shortly after committing gluttony to the highest degree. Anyways I hope everyone’s thanksgiving was grand, sometimes I wish everyday was thanksgiving, partly because of the delicious grub, but mostly because we have so much from the Lord to be thankful for.

Anywho……. a few weeks ago a group of us was doing door to door ministry with a local pastor in a community not far from where we are staying. We had been walking around for about an hour or so praying for people, and we stumbled upon a man with a cane who obviously had leg issues. Patrick, the pastor we were with, said we were going to pray for God to heal this man’s legs. We prayed for about ten minutes for Jesus to give this man freedom from his illness. Patrick offered to take his cane for him, and before we knew it, this man was walking all over the place without his cane. What a testament to the living God! I’m still processing the great work Jesus did that day, but one thing is for certain the Holy Spirit is present here in Africa.

I think this story relates to us more than we think or want to admit. We are so often dragged down by sin, by hardships, by doubt and we somehow don’t think there is any way out. I believe we often think that Jesus is unable to heal us or he doesn’t have the time, but that is the farthest thing from the truth. Like the man we met a few weeks ago, we need to place our hope in the healing and transforming power of Christ Jesus, because he wants to help us up on our feet and guide us to things we never even thought were possible. The times where we feel like we can’t move on our own, are the times when Jesus wants us to realize that He has the power to break chains and that He has victory over evil, death, and disease. We give the enemy victory when we doubt the sovereignty and might of our Lord Jesus. Flip through the Gospels and look at the healing power of Jesus, he meets people where they are at, they believe in His healing power, and they experience freedom that they did not know existed. Wow how great is our great God!

– Debatably the best example of Jesus’s ability to heal is in Luke 7, when a Centurion’s faith in Jesus’s healing power, brings his slave to perfect health. I encourage you to check it out, it is quite convicting and beautiful.

– “That is why I didn’t even consider myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be cured.” Luke 7:7

On Thursday all of us guys are headed to Mkhotlong, Lesotho for 2 months of manistry. We are beyond excited for what God has in store for us.
