God has a sense of humor, He really does. I thought I went on the world race to serve, share the gospel, and exhibit Christ’s love to the least of these. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had the undeserved privilege of doing all those things and it’s been beautiful. I would love to say God brought me around the world to do these things, but He didn’t. He somehow thought is was necessary for me leave home for nine months and raise a bunch of money for something so simple. God took me on the World Race to come the realization that He is all I really have, that I am nothing without Him. That He is my portion, my prize, and my delight forever.
I’m not a freshman in college right now for a perfect predestined reason. College was not in the cards for me in the years of 2016 and 2017 because the creator of the world saw it fit to teach me the most crucial truth in existence. I am futile without Christ Jesus and life is vanity if Jesus is not a part of it. Guys I don’t really know how else to put it, except that I’m falling in love with my Savior more than I ever have. That the taste of living water is so sweet and once you find it you won’t be able to ever stop drinking from it. Who do I have but Jesus? What other hope is there under heaven? Crazy to think that God just wanted me to open my eyes to the fact that He is my everything, the source and perfecter of my faith.
Check out Psalm 73:22-28 and John 4:1-18. Pretty much sums up what the Lord has taught me on this epic journey.
Love and miss you guys. May the Lord Jesus Christ and His grace be with you all of your days.
Btw my team of 5 guys is in Siem Reap, Cambodia for the next two months doing a whole slew of cool things. We get to teach, preach, serve, hangout with kiddos, lead a retreat, and so much more. Our host family is the coolest and their son Paul is the goofiest kid you will ever meet.
