As I sit here on a gloomy morning in the mountains of Lesotho, I can’t stop myself from adoring the Lord. I can’t stop admiring all He has done here in a village of 7,000 people. Eighteen people, including 16 prisoners have come to know the risen Lord in the past month. We have been witnesses to the glory and omnipotence of Jesus Christ. God is omniscient, sovereign, and all-knowing and I can’t help but to wonder if He knew I would be sitting here this morning in awe of Him before He laid the foundation of the world. As I learn more and more about my Savior, Christ Jesus, the more unsearchable and beautiful He becomes. Job 11:7 says, “Can you fathom the depths of God or discover the limits of the Almighty?” My answer is, absolutely not! Our God cannot be calculated and He is without size or dimension. His years cannot be counted and all things were created through Him. It is impossible to try to understand Yahweh, so I think I’ll sit here in awe of the work of His hands.

I believe we are part of a cosmic canvas and the painter of the picture calls Himself Lord of Lords, Prince of Peace, and King of Kings. His brush strokes always have purpose and are for the good of those who love Him. We are each strokes of His cosmic canvas. This world is not idiotic or based on nothing. In Psalm 139:16 King David says, “Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.” Picasso and Van Gogh pale in comparison to the painter that holds the brush of life and breath. Jesus is Michelangelo times infinity. This very day strokes are being added to the cosmic canvas that in due time we will understand with joy as a stroke made by the artist, who calls Himself Alpha and Omega.
