So I’m from Cedar Falls, Iowa, and I’m a senior in high school. To your surprise, I actually don’t live in the middle of a cornfield or on a farm of any sort. I am a lover of sports, reading, laughing and, of course, the Lord. I treasure time with friends and also meeting new ones along the way. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s golfing or fishing. Working with kids and teaching them about Jesus is one of my biggest passions. This past summer I was a counselor at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp, and that was just an amazing couple of months teaching kids about our great God. I am involved in a traveling mime ministry, which is a portrayal of the bible without any words. This mime thing might sound kind of weird, but trust me it’s really sweet. I help lead a bible study at my high school, which God is doing amazing things through. I believe God called to the World Race Gap Year for many different reasons. God instilled a heart for the world and it’s people in me, and especially for poverty stricken areas. By talking with numerous people about mission work and Adventures in Missions in specific, I knew I had to apply for this trip. By God’s grace, I am in the spot I am right now and have a spectacular opportunity to bring God’s love and his truth to the nations with a bunch of amazing people my age. So yeah, that’s a bit about who I am.
