The first two weeks in Guatemala have been great. The majority of our first week was spent learning about Guatemalan culture, settling into our base, and learning how to use the chicken buses/vans to get from place to place (the locals get a lot of laughter out of me attempting to fit into vans and hitting my head on the bus ceiling) I might be the largest person in Guatemala. This past week we hit the ground running with soccer ministry, a new ministry which will be my team’s focus for the next three months. Each week we rotate between four villages and play soccer with kids then we share about Jesus with them after every practice. Additionally we will host tournaments that the kids are able to participate in. While soccer is not my greatest strength (I don’t think I have improved much since the third grade) I have really enjoyed building relationships with the kids we are working with and being able to share the gospel with them. I am so excited to get in more of a rhythm as our time in Guatemala continues. I would appreciate prayers for our ministry as we learn what works well and what doesn’t.

Until next time,
