Hi my name is Mason Ruark, I am from Selah Washington, and I am currently a freshman at Central Washington University. I am 19 years old, I enjoy fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. I have an awesome family; my Mom is an ESL teacher, my Dad is a pastor at our local church, and I have three siblings Julia (17), Kevin (15), and Yobi (13). Last year I was accepted for the World Race, but I was worried I would fall behind other students my age so I ultimately chose not to go. The funny thing is though, as I continued to pray over the World Race, what I came to realize was that by doing the World Race I won’t be falling behind, but instead I will be stepping forward to serve others! It may have taken me a year to be at peace with that, and this is a long ways out of my comfort zone, but I am super excited to see how God works in and through me in this upcoming year as I go out and serve!
