Hello there!

I wanted to make this post specifically just to say a huge thank you. Thank you to everyone who has shown me so much love, to everyone who has supported me financially, to everyone who has helped me in managing fundraisers, and to everyone who has been there to encourage me spiritually. The Lord has taught me a lot in recent weeks, and I’m so grateful for everyone it involved.

I’ll be honest with you, I was not expecting this much support when I first decided to start on this journey, and it has made me all the more grateful to have it. I feel that I am often unable to adequately express this gratitude in person, but I hope in saying this that you get the idea.

As many of you know, I am not exactly what one would call an extravert (haha), and so this whole experience of reaching out to people and consistently keeping everyone up to date has been very new to me. I want to thank everyone for their patience with me as the Lord continues to grow me in those areas.

One thing that I have absolutely loved so far is getting coffee or lunch with people and sharing with them about my trip and also hearing how the Lord has been moving in their life. It’s such a great way to connect and build relationships as opposed to speaking to a group of people all at once. When it was first suggested to me as a way to connect by the World Race, I was absolutely dreading it, simply because I’m a rather awkward speaker/conversation-holder in person, but now it has been one of my favorite parts of the journey so far! I’ve only gotten the opportunity to do it a couple of times, but I look forward to doing it more often as the year progresses. (Please reach out on Facebook at Mary G. Owens or e-mail me at [email protected]. I would love to connect with you!)

Thanks to a couple of surprisingly successful yard sales and raffles (keep an eye out for some baby-sitting raffles coming soon!), and quite a few particularly generous people, I am already, after only two-months, nearly halfway funded!

God has really been moving lately, in even deeper things than what I have described here, and He is so utterly deserving of a praise that I will never be capable of accurately expressing while on this earth (I say this in order to make clear that it doesn’t mean God is moving just because things are going well. In fact, according to the Bible and personal experience, He seems closest to us in the midst of suffering. As the saying goes, “God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.” And thank you God for that!).

I know that His time is coming, but as of this moment, He isn’t finished yet. He is still moving; He is still working right where I am, right where you are (isn’t that crazy? To have The Pure and Living God dwelling inside us? Maybe, God willing, I’ll write a bit about that one day…). But as of now,

To Him be all the glory!

With All Love and Sincerity,

Mary

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
