Hey blog! Long time no see! I’m sure you’re wondering “where the heck are you? And what the heck are you doing?” GREAT questions!!! I’m in a tiny lil mountain town called Lajas de Yaora in the Dominican Republic. My squad and I are working with a ministry called HOPE mountain. They are focused on planting churches and sex trafficking ministry. Here, we are doing a lot of work to help set them up such as sorting receipts, building houses, creating education and business material, as they will be the first safe house for sexually exploited minors in the Dominican Republic. Sex trafficking is horrifically too common here (blog on that soon) and it’s present everywhere you go. We also do a lot of work to encourage their churches and create content for the churches to use. Our squad does a lot of dance videos to share the Gospel, puppet shows, and skits! My role here currently, is to mentor a girl here on base! I do school with her all day, both helping her with her online classes and creating lesson plans for her other classes and just get to do life with her! It is the absolute best and I am learning so much from her! Thanks for tuning into a quick little update of what I’m doing and where I am and thank you for all of your support! If you are looking for ways to be praying, please keep my friend I am mentoring in your prayers as her and her family need to go back to the States in order to receive some medical care, prayer for my squad as we are all missing home and have been on the field for 8 months now and could use some encouragement, also please keep the ywam staff in Costa Rica in your prayers as they keep doing their thing!!!
