Jo! What a women!! She sells fruit out if the back of her truck on the side if the road! We pass by her almost every single day and she always is the kindest to us. Together we get to dream about our futures and our daily lives. She talks to us super slow in Spanish so we can understand and we respond back in broken Spanish and lots of hand motions. (Charades is a universal language). Jo is probably one of the hardest workers I know. When she’s not working, which is only at night since she works every day of the week, she studies for school to fulfill her dream of becoming a policewoman! Jo asked us if we were vacationing here and we told her that we actually just moved here and are missionaries! Jo was ecstatic to hear that because she explained that she was also Christian and her heart is broken because Puerto is filled with so many people who desperately need to hear about Jesus and she’s been praying for people to come and share the Gospel! When we asked her if she had a Bible in Spanish (since puerto is a very hard place to find somewhere to get a Bible), she replied that she couldn’t find one anywhere but wanted one! The next day we got to bring her a Bible from our base and it was such a sweet gift to get to watch her flip through the pages with excitement. It’s so cool to see how the Lord is so intentional in who He leads us to and how not even language barriers can limit what He wants to do!!

Now every time we pass by we get to hear about all the things the Lord is teaching her and it’s so encouraging!

Puerto and it’s people have my heart and teach me a whole lot!
