I’ve noticed the Lord doing a common thing between the women on my squad.

We’ve all been experiencing this crazy FREEDOM.

It’s hard to describe, and if you don’t understand it, it’s quite possible you haven’t experienced true freedom yet.

It’s really cool because it’s totally God’s timing that we are all experiencing this intense freedom this month in Thailand.

You see, our ministry this month has been going to bars.

Summary of what we do—

go into the bars
purchase a soda
strike up conversations with the girls
most of whom are trying to find a male customer for the night
make relationships
find out if they want to leave their job
then offer them a job working in a hotel or teaching them a skill of some sort

Every other night we go to Bangla Road…

Open bars where there are girls dancing on poles.

Girls putting their hands all over us, trying to get us to buy them drinks.

Lady Boys flashing themselves for attention.

Picture me sitting at a bar where my face is level with the woman’s shin that’s dancing above me.

If that’s awkward enough for you picturing that, imagine how awkward it was for me.

But you’d be surprised how easy it is to talk to prostitutes, once you look at them physically, in the eye, and spiritually, as a daughter of God, first.

It’s really not that awkward.
It’s really not that hard.

What it is…

Heartbreaking.

Most women don’t come from Phuket. They come from small towns in northern Thailand to get money to send back to their mothers who are most likely raising their children.

I had one girl the other night tell me,

“I boom boom (sex) 24, 25 time last night, it hurt here.” As she massages an area to the bottom left side of her stomach.

I asked her if she liked her job, and she ducked behind my friend sitting next to me as to hide.

She put her finger to her lips as to keep it a secret, scrunched her face, and shook her head, signaling no.

I have two coffee dates tomorrow with girls that my group of 3 met in the bars.

I’ll be sure to let you know how those go as soon as possible.

Back to the women of our squad…

You have to have freedom to share freedom.

You can't give something that you don't have!
Can I get an amen?

That’s why we’re all experiencing this freedom that only Jesus can bring.

This month, we’re essentially trying open up these girl’s eyes to see that there is freedom.

You don’t have to boom boom for money.

People can look at you in the eye when they talk to you.
People can be purely interested in being your friend.
You’re worth more than one night with a man.

You’ve already been bought by the blood.

You’re not for sale.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
1 Corinthians 6:19&20
