So it’s the end of month one, and I just realized I never told you all what my squad is doing in Honduras.
*Some, if not all of these pictures are taken by my teammate Krystyna S, thanks girl!

Our whole group is staying on a property called Gates of Zion.

It’s pretty cool, the guy who owns the property is an American man who takes in street, or at risk youth, mostly teenage boys. He gives them a place to sleep, food, family, and all this while discipling them. It's a pretty awesome family if you ask me.

Our contact has been totally cool with setting us up with a variety of ministries.

Each team had a project to make the property look nicer.

-My team with another team cleared out the front of tall grass and weeds.

Thursdays we went to a center that takes in teenage girls who, I think, are sent there by the government. Either for their protection, or other people’s protection.

-I was able to share a message about purpose with the girls.

We went twice to a dump to share a message and give out food. And yes, a dump where people put trash.

-The first time we went, I couldn’t talk to anyone because I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I really didn’t know what to expect and what I saw broke my heart. My cheeks hurt by night time from straining not to cry all day.

We went into a rough town/area I’m not sure which, called Los Pinos, where many of the boys living on the property are from.

-I jumped into a soccer game with a bunch of local teen and kid boys, and I scored a couple of goals. Nbd.

-Something really cool happened here, but that’s coming in a different blog.

Some of my team praying over Tegucigalpa

Probably the most fun was the ministry we did called, “Taking it to the streets.” We would go to a busy intersection in Tegucigalpa and hold signs that said lots of different things.

-God loves you

-Honk if you love Jesus

-Free Hugs

-Ask me, and I’ll pray for you.

–All in Spanish obviously.

Other than that, this has been a great month for growth individually and as a squad. There has been a lot of down time, so I’ve had lots of time to pray, write, and think. I’m pretty sure the Lord gave me a revelation about my future, but again, I’ll save that for another blog.
