When I tell people that I am going on the World Race, I get responses ranging from “That is amazing! I am so excited for you!” to “Are you crazy?!”

Well, to answer the question, yes I AM crazy…CRAZY FOR JESUS!

Freshman year of college, I had this picture of what my life after college would look like: I would graduate with a degree in Psychology, get a golden retriever, go straight to graduate school, get my Masters degree in either Psychology or Counseling, and live happily ever after.

Junior year, I was completely and utterly broken by The One who created me (another story in itself), leaving me unsure what the next chapter in my life was going to look like yet it was a time of tremendous growth and learning to trust Him completely.

After a lot of prayer about what to do after college and tons of “Marybeth-Jesus” time, I felt God calling me to something greater than any of my plans…something that would draw me completely out of my comfort zone while challenging me in my walk with The Lord and make my relationship with Him stronger.

Enter the World Race

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world.  During the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and so much more!

Where am I going?

  • Costa Rica
  • Nicaragua
  • Honduras
  • Philipines
  • Vietnam
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Thailand
  • Malawi
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe

I leave in September 2015 for 11 months! I am absolutely terrified…terrified of the unknown…terrified of my introvertedness…terrified of how God is going to use little Marybeth to further His kingdom. Yet, I have a peace. I have peace in knowing that God holds my life in His hands and that He has a plan that is far far greater than anything I could ever fathom. I am excited. I am excited to get to travel all over the world while telling people about Jesus and showing His love by being His hands and feet. I am excited about leaving my comfort zone and experiencing all that God has planned. I am excited about meeting people and living in community for 11 months. I am more excited than a child on Christmas morning and that outweighs my fears.

In order to leave fully funded in September 2015, I need to raise $16,257.00. Yes, I know…that is a lot of money but I am trusting that God will provide! He has called me to this and He will see it through to completion.

By now, you’re probably wondering How you can help:

  • Prayer and encouragement.
  • Support me financially. There is a box on the left side of the page that says “Support Me!”…you can click on that and give money.
  • Subscribe. Go to the “Follow Me” tab and get updates every time I post something new! This way, you can live vicariously through me via the blog and see the awesome things God is doing in my life, the lives of my teammates and squadmates, and what He is doing around the world!

I am so blessed to be able to be a part of this and I am excited to share this journey with all of you!

Love,

Marybeth
