So we took a little trip, called an adventure practicum.  We weren’t  told where we were going until we actually got picked up.  Found out we were heading to the airport and then to a city called Santander on the northern coast of Spain.  (LIfe with God isn’t BORING!) My partner and I were given some money to live on for 4 days, but it was not an abudance and that was part of the point–to rely on God for provision.  Also, to seek God for ministry opportunities.  I was excited, I wanted to see how God would work and show up and hungry to know Him even better as provider, protector.
Some of the highlights:  Our place of housing.  We set out to find a cheap hostel and got lost.  We looked down the street and saw a sign for a hostel, but it wasn’t the one we were looking for.  It was a more expensive one, but we thought maybe we can negotiate.  To go and check it out anyway was a good decision!  As we turned down the street and headed towards it, a lady motioned to us and put her head on her hand, implying did we need a place to sleep.  We approached her and figured out she was offering her house as a place to stay.  Random person on the street!  We were shocked and a little hesistant.  We talked over a price and it was cheaper than any hostel/hotel listed on our tourist map.  We soon realized it was okay and felt God providing for us.  We stayed with her the remaining three nights.   God showed up.

A minsitry opportunity highlight:  We gave food to a homeless man and decided to sit down next to him as we made him a sandwhich.  For me, God is building in me more relationship.  Sometimes, we just throw a coin or a piece of food at someone and leave.  But, what about just hanging out.  It was amazing the wierd looks Kristen and I received as we sat there. There was also a crippled man, our age, that we walked by and decided to pray for.  He was in an automobile accident at age 5 and his legs were crippled ever since.  He was open and wanted us to pray for him.  He could walk, but barely.  We sat with him as well.  Once again, people stared.  We were just hanging out, showing him he’s not some outcast that should be avoided.  I’m learning more and more it’s not about numbers and doing, it’s just about being and walking and you never know who you might affect.

God also showed us that He still wants to bless us and show us how much He loves us.  As we are showing His love, He says I want to keep showing YOU My love too.  That was pretty awesome.  And he used someone we would least likely expect, the same crippled guy.  We rationed our money for food for this trip, we certainly did not starve, but we weren’t buying bon bons and twinkies either.  I wanted sugar at some point during our 4 days.  The guy told us he’d be right back and then came back with a bag of candy.  It was great!  But, never expected it.  This taught me not to write people off, that those who seem in need don’t always just take, and allow others to bless you even when it seems they have nothing.  I tried saying no, and soon realized, he felt good that he was able to give to us.

I’m starting semester 2 at G42 and still need to raise $3100.  If you want to donate, click here.  Thanks to all who follow and have supported me.  May God rock your world.
