We are 1 week and a few days into our ministry here in Panajachel. It has been fun, exciting, hard and rewarding. There is a lady named Isabella whose house we worked on. We finished laying the roof on Saturday and she was so anxious to move in, she was watching us as we finished and then quickly started moving in. I got to experience her joy and that was so awesome. Her and her 4 children ran up to their one bedroom and sat on the bed for me to capture this moment, their joy on camera. She has more joy it seems than most people I know who have 10 times more than her. I’m humbled by her; she is such a blessing to our team.  Pray for her, for her faith. She is following after God.

We have also been able to be with our contact here, Benjamin, during most days. He has a church here in Panajachel, Mi Reto. He works with us on our construction projects and teaches us three nights a week. He is one of the most on fire people I’ve ever met, and his joy is contagious. He lives by such faith that excites me. He and his wife have a testimony like I’ve never heard before. I hope we can video some of his and show it. He pours into us three nights a week with teachings that cause us to think and cause me to become so excited. His church is so welcoming to us and though we cannot carry on long conversations with the people, our spirits are one and the same. To watch other nations worship is amazing.  Benjamin and his wife Lilliam are such examples, people I want to be like.  They serve God with such surrender, it is truly amazing.  Pray and if you feel led consider supporting Benjamin.  He does most jobs alone, such as building the house for Isabella, unless he has mission teams in.  We have so much in America, and we are so blessed, we need to give it away to others.  Churches need to give it away to others.

I’m not sure exactly what we are doing next, I wonder what is next and how I can have the energy to complete things, to have the joy and love to spread, but it comes when I see someone like Isabella smile they way she does. And God told me it is okay to be weak because when we are he is strong. I’m learning not to rely on myself….but on Him. He is good! I was reading in Matthew 15:32-and Jesus had compassion on the people, he did not want to send them away hungry or they might collapse on the way. There was not enough food, and sometimes it seems there will not be enough food, spiritual, physical, emotional, but through his compassion, he fed them, the four-thousand. “They all ate and were satisfied.”
