A few years ago God gave me a vision of Africa, my first vision of a nation.   He showed me the continent of Africa and light sweeping over it entirely starting in the left and going to the right and down, TURNING THE DARK CONTINENT INTO A LIGHT CONTINENT. Since being here, going to Ghana and then Nigeria, I have seen and heard some of what God is doing.

Ghana is known as the gateway to Africa amongst Africans. This label is prophetic. Cape Coast Ghana is where most of the slaves were sent out to the Americas and Europe. That is huge, what the enemy used for his camp, God is redeeming for His kingdom. Cape Coast was once the gateway to slavery, but now it will be the gateway to freedom and for His kingdom to reign down.

Slavery costs much. He showed me that because of where Africa has been and what has been done to the continent by outsiders and insiders, how much more is to be restored to this place. Freedom from slavery, literally, spiritually and emotionally, produces a mighty mighty testimony. Think about it: someone who was once a slave and then you see them now as a freeman living in abundance and joy, the testimony that produces. He has shown me that when we often look at Africa we think of atrocities committed, wars, genocides, exploitation of the people and natural resources. But, he has also shown me that from this perspective, how God’s name will be glorified as He turns this continent upside down and turns it from dark to light. Nations will look and see the glory and redemption of the Lord because of Africa. It will be a light to the rest of the world. He is moving and working here. A revival, a rising up of His spirit is taking place.

He showed me Africa as a lepered fill continent. I saw and old man as a leper with a hunched back. But, then God showed me the leper going from wounded, unworthy, scarred, and unable to show his face to whole, clean, healed, restored, and walking upright. Redemption is occurring. Redemption over the people and the land is sweeping across. A healing to Africa’s resources and her people is taking place. Africa is rich in natural resources and God is redeeming the exploitation of these to bring an appreciation back to the Africans and the world for what God has blessed this continent with.

Also, I was at a crusade where the speaker said something very profound. He said Africa has so much given to her, so much in the land, yet due to the past Africa has remained dependant on foreigners and that the time is now to rise up and to break from the mindset of always needing outsiders to help.

It is time for Africa to be reconciled to her own land and to break out of the dependant mindset and embrace the wealth of the continent. I believe an embracing out of humbleness and adoration at the glory of God and His abundant gifts to the continent is coming. Africa is wealthy and prosperous. A return to the One is coming. Light is sweeping over Africa!
