There are so many artists and talented people in the world. So much creativity. People are gifted. God has gifted people with amazing talents, with a sound that is unique. When I think of the Dave Matthews Band, I think of their unique sound. So, why does most Christian “music” sound the same. I can hear the gasps coming, but to me, a lot of it is boring, particularly on the radio. I believe there are so many sounds to be discovered and unleashed. There is a sea of rhythms, beats and words in Him. If you’re an artist step into, don’t be afraid to be different, we need different! I’m grateful to move from this religious mindset where I couldn’t even appreciate some artists because they are so in the world or something ridiculous like that. Like Eminem. Yes some of his stuff is explicit and I’m not advertising for people to listen, but I can appreciate him and say he is truly talented. When I hear his songs, he has a gift of words, writing, rhyming. There is something on his music. If God got a hold of him, holy cow!!!!! If artists get rocked by God, I pray they don’t water down their gifts to sound like all the other Christian stuff because they think that’s the way it’s supposed to sound. It’s NOT! It’s SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE YOU. Their gift was his gift from the beginning. The way they sound already, was His design. Now let it explode even more, not become watered down. Come on artists in the kingdom, let’s go. The world needs your sound.
