Hey! My name is Mary-Meg Rust and I’m getting ready to jump out of my comfort zone and serve God for 9 months. About four months ago, as I was preparing to apply for college and think about my next move in life I couldn’t stop thinking about The Race. No matter how hard I tried to sit down and start a college application I would always find my self on The World Race website reading blogs and descriptions of the different routes. I found myself praying about what my next move was and in the end mission work in countries considerably less fortunate than ours was about the only thing on my heart and in my mind. Over the next month a thousand questions ran through my head. Would I be okay leaving my family for NINE whole months? Was I going to be able to raise the money? If I did apply what route would I take? These thoughts overwhelmed me. During this time I could not stop listening the the song “Oceans” by Hillsong UNITED. The song is all about stepping out of your comfort zone to answer Gods call. “Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my Savior. Spirit lead me where my trust is without boarders, let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me” -Oceans. After this, I realized that Jesus wouldn’t have put this mission on my heart if I didn’t have the ability to raise the resources I need to go out and do His work. After all… God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called. So here I am preparing to spend 9 months (starting in September 2020) in Guatemala, Ecuador and Nepal. I am SO excited but I could use all the help I can get whether  that be in prayer or with monitary donations. If you’ve read this far, thank you for your consideration! Stay tuned for the next blog!
