“Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two” Matthew 5:41
There is no question to me that God has used a “down” period of time these last few months for me to reach out to some significant people in my life.
How could I encourage when I myself needed so much encouragement??
Proverbs 11:25 “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched and the one who waters will himself be watered.”
There is something supernatural that happens to a Christian when they encourage and spur others on toward the Lord and I have noticed it. I think it is purely a gift from God that when you choose to “water” others, you yourself will be “watered” supernaturally from the Lord.
It is not that we do this with selfish intent, but that we know that certain actions reap reward from the Father in Heaven, who wants His children to be doing life together, helping each other, spurring one another on toward a stronger daily life and brighter future.
We need each other. For encouragement. For wisdom. For direction and love.
If I need to go through the fire to help out a brother, if I am part of one body, if I am one piece in a puzzle and one soldier in the battle, as long as Christ is before me, I can endure it and I will use it for His glory.
And, the fire in my heart has been renewed once again.
