I’ll end with a sweet story from bible study last week with our youngest girls (ages 8-11)…
It was getting dark and Bible study was winding down. The chaos in front of our building was thinning as one by one girls abandoned their games of basketball, soccer, and tag to walk home. One girl, before leaving, ran up and wrapped her arms around my waist,
“Hey Sunshine!” I exclaimed.
I’m not Sunshine.
(Oh no! I thought. It had taken me so long to learn all 50 girls names and even though I forgot occasionally, I was almost 100% positive this girl’s name was Sunshine…)
“What is your name?” I embarassingly asked.
It’s Moon.
A smile crept onto my face…
“Oh, well where is Sunshine?”
She’ll come back in the morning!
I grabbed this precious, beautiful girl into my arms and spun her around as our laughter rose to meet the bright moon looking down on us.
