Here are some glimpses of other things that have been taking place in Romania.
Our contact and owner of the place we are living ministers to a nearby Gypsy
village. So many of the kids in the village were brought to Casa
Shalom for a day camp where we played on the playground, washed their feet and
hands, acted out bible story skits, ate food and did crafts! We have also been going to their village and playing with them on their turf! They are beautiful
children whom God is pursuing in a passionate way! These children need all the
love and care they can get! It was a joy spending time with them and seeing the
smiles on their faces as they do simple things like go down the slide or jump
on the trampoline.
Me
and some of the guys on my squad decided to go down town the other day for a
bit of ask the Lord time. We took the 122 and 385 bus to beautiful downtown
Bucharest and upon arrival we were immediately surrounded by gorgeous antique
architecture. We prayed, and then
started walking through the city just letting the Spirit lead. Kyle felt led to
stop and talk to a few people and we eventually ended up in front of an
Orthodox church. We went inside to check it out. Some people were on their
knees praying, some standing, and the priest was speaking loudly in Romanian.
We walked back outside and felt like we should wait there for a bit. We prayed
for some homeless women and talked with some street children. Kyle met and
prayed with an orphan named Valetin who said he was addicted to heroine. It was
just a neat time to just operate in the Spirit and attempt to love people as
Jesus would and still does. We are called to be disciples and apostles as Jesus
and His disciples were! When you go out each day, be ready for God to change
your schedule! If we are not experiencing God’s power in our lives it’s because
we are not opened to it! He has SOO much power for us to tap into, let’s stop
sitting around and being bored, let’s seek the Kingdom of God! If we are bored,
we need more of God’s power in our lives! God’s power is not boring! The global
church has received as call to get off the couch and be a voice for those
around us, for the injustice in this world!
“Listen to me, my people, Hear me, Israel, For my law will be proclaimed, And my justice will become a light to the nations. My mercy
and justice are coming soon. My salvation is on the way. My strong arm will bring
justice to the nations. All the distant lands will look to me and wait in hope
for my powerful arm.
