Sorry for the lack of blogs since being in Africa. Internet
is rare here so it has been harder to post blogs.

Well we traveled from Kampala, Uganda to Dar Es Salaam,
Tanzania on a bus for a total of 32 hours. We have been in Tanzania now for
about 10 days. Our contacts here are wonderful. We are living with a Bishop and
his wife, who is also a pastor, and their family. They treat us like we are a
part of the family and they are so hospitable to us. We were gone all day
yesterday attending another one of their churches about an hour away and when
we returned last night they stood at the gate welcoming us with open arms
saying, “Oh, we missed our family today! Welcome home!

The church we are partnering with and the family we are
living with has immersed themselves right in the middle of a Muslim community.
It is pretty neat. Many of their friends and family thought they were crazy
when they felt the Lord calling them to not only start a church in a completely
Muslim community but to also come and live in the community as well. The Lord
is moving here and they have already seen Muslims come to know the Lord.

As for our role here, we have our hands in a few different
things. We teach an English class for the women who cook for us in the
mornings. We also do door to door visits around the community with one of the pastors
each morning. The church has a youth service on Tuesdays, and a church wide
Bible study on Wednesdays and Fridays and we are taking turns teaching at each
of these services. Each evening some of my team teaches an English class for
younger kids while Tyler, Kris and myself teach an introductory computer class
to some of the youth in the church. We have so much fun with the computer
class. In order to learn anything about computers in Tanzania you basically
have to pay to go to a class so the computer class is a huge deal for these
youth. They really enjoy learning on the computers.

I am constantly humbled at the opportunities my teammates
and I have this year to go from country to country all over the world, dropped
down each month in a random city, in a country somewhere in this huge universe
and just watch God at work. In every church we’ve partnered with, in every
organization we’ve worked with the Lord is moving. He doesn’t need us but He so
graciously says, “Come. You are welcome to join me in my global mission around
the world.
