Team Pulse had the opportunity to minister at a hospital
last Saturday morning. I have ministered in an African hospital before and I
thoroughly enjoy praying for people so I was pretty excited for the
opportunity. It’s always so humbling to be able to pray for the sick or hold
someone while they are in pain. Some of my teammates were not sure what to
expect but mostly we were eager and anxious to find out what would come of
the day. We started the day off with prayer as usual and Anna suggested that we
all do declarations as a team, which was even more uplifting! (Declarations are
a list of about thirty truths that we get on chairs and speak over ourselves.
Here are a few examples:)

“My prayers are
powerful and effective!

“I live under a
supernatural protection!

“I consistently bring
God-encounters to other people!

“I uproariously laugh
when I hear a lie from the devil

After declarations I was ready to punch Satan in the face!

Soon after, our Kenyan colleagues showed up in the van to
pick us up! We arrived at the hospital and met a man who I assume is one of the
head doctors or someone important at the hospital. He welcomed us into the
hospital and said we were welcome to walk around and pray for the patients. The
hospital was set up as eight different buildings. Each building was a different
ward. We determined we would all go to each ward together, spreading throughout
each ward praying for different patients.

We began in Ward 8, which was the psyche ward. The psyche
ward was definitely interesting, as Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama welcomed
us in. We tried to talk to the patients as best we could and prayed over many
of them.

We then moved on to Ward 4. It was the men’s surgical ward.
They told us a wedding was going on in there, I thought it was odd but was
anxious to check it out as one of my teammates was missing an important wedding
at home. We walked in and there definitely was no wedding going on. Some of us
turned to the left and some went to the right and started speaking with
patients and praying for patients on each side of the ward. Lili and I were
praying for an elderly man that was in the last bed and as soon as we were done
and turned around Mama Terry told us that a man had just died. Even though I’ve
experienced a lot of death in my life over the last few years, it was still a
very surreal sight! I looked at the dead man in his bed, some of his family
members were standing nearby, some of my teammates were close by and I just
started to pray that he would wake up! I found out later that Lili started
praying the same thing. I was then distracted by a woman who began wailing at
the top of her lungs and the men who were carrying the dead man out on a
stretcher. We all followed as they took the body outside. At this point I was
still focused on the woman whom I could tell had some kind of relationship with
the man who had just died. She was now sitting on a log outside. As I was
contemplating about going over to her, my teammate Kirsten grabbed me and said,
“let’s go find that man and pray for him.â€  We started walking but were unsure of where they took his
body so we just started praying right there that he would be raised from the
dead. The woman who was crying walked by and the next thing I knew my arms were
wrapped around her. (Because I’ve lost someone close to me, I now feel burdened
to comfort those who lose loved ones.) Turns out the man who passed away was a
family friend of hers and this lady also had a sister who had been admitted the
hospital that same morning. She then asked Kirsten and I to come pray for her
sister. I do not know if that man knew Jesus or not but part of me
thinks that the wedding that happened in Ward 4 that day was a Son of God
meeting His savoir in Heaven!

“Then Jesus shouted,
“Lazarus, come out! And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in
graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and
let him go! — John 11:43-44 —

I do believe that we can raise the dead! Not only
spiritually but physically. Jesus raised the dead and He said that we would do
even greater works than He did. I do know that when it happens it’ll be His
plan, His timing and for His glory.

Mainly I just want  to live my life believing God for anything
and everything!

I left the hospital on Saturday more pissed off at satan
than I’ve ever been. We must remember that we do NOT fight against mere flesh
and blood enemies. Yes, it’s hard to see physically sick men and women, it’s
hard to see babies that can’t walk or that have malaria but let’s walk and live
as people who have authority in the spiritual realm! It should break our hearts
more than anything when we see spiritually dead or hurting people. Our physical bodies
are here today and gone tomorrow but our spirits will live forever!

The greatest lie satan has and will ever get Christians to
believe is that he is not real.

“For we are not
fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and
against evil spirits in the heavenly places.  â€” Ephesians 6:12 –

Also, two of my squadmates are in danger of being sent home next week from lack of financial support. If the Lord is leading you, please give!
