Here’s a fun update on my journey so far. Our squad took two 8 hour plane rides to arrive in the Philippines. Yep, our Asian leg of this adventure has begun and holy molly guacamolly the food is so good!!! I’m super excited for this month. This month we are teamed with another team, so there are 11 of us. This has been really awesome to have so many gifts and talents pulled together this month, because you know what is in-store for us this month…
VBS!! First ever VBS for Moriah Baptist Church in the Philippines. We are working with an American Missionary and his mission Go Philippines to put this together. The first couple of days we have been planning. Our theme for VBS is God’s love is wild! We are sharing how God does wild or unexpected thing to show us how much He loves us.
Some really fun things about the Philippines so far:
– Our host knows what it is like to be on the field, so he blessed us with a suitcase of American food. Yep, there were skittles (my favorite missing home candy)
– They ride around on tricycles, which are scooters with this little metal ride along seat
– The mangos here are AMAZING
The month is just getting started, but we are excited to see what wild thing God is up to this month. There has already been talk of a basketball team… what.
