So this year’s theme seems to be “I make plans, God plans something different”. I love that my last post was how everything was coming together and then BAM, PLOT TWIST!!! Life update, a little over a week ago I was let go from my job. It was no fault of mine, but it has taken me back a little. Okay, it took me back a lot.

I had given some thought to how I was going to say good bye to a the people that I have worked alongside for a little over 3 years and quite frankly I expected for those good byes to happen in December as they send me off to my fun world wide adventure. Well, that’s not the case and it was very sad to say good-bye to friends early and under such circumstances.

Now let me share with you how God is in control and continues to show me how He is there for His children.

Moments after I was let go, I passed a colleague that lives out of town. I was telling him about my trip and asking his recommendation on computers for travel. He looked at me and said that he has an older mac that he was parting with and offered to send it to me! So moments after I was let go, God put someone in my life at the right time with the resources to provide a major need for me!

Another amazing thing is I made a 3-year commitment to a friend in ministry, two years ago. She recently decided that she was not going to continue into her third year. I just received notice of her ending this commitment a couple weeks ago. It’s amazing that I had the capability through my position to easily fulfill the commitment and when I was let go the commitment was no longer needed! What an amazing way that God coordinates things for His children.

Right now I’m okay and I have to remind myself in this moment all my needs are being met. That this is an opportunity that I didn’t have before and I want to embrace it as that. I know that this is just another step in preparing me for my World Race. There have been some really hard moments, but I am so thankful for my family, my House Church, and my friends for their support. I am truly blessed for the community that God has given me. Please keep me in your prayers as I’m working through this, fundraising, and waiting on a new home for Simon.
