So where is in the world is Mary Forster?
I’m in the port town on the southern tip of Chile. Right before all the lakes. The town is called Puerto Montt.
What have I been up to?
Great question. We have been supporting a local church here. That has looked like Children’s ministry, preaching, and really whatever else is helpful.
What’s Chile like?
There is a very European feel here in Chile. We drink a lot of coffee and eat a ton of bread. There is so much bread. The people are so incredible and so hospitable.
You’re almost done, how does that feel?
Weird, really weird. In some aspects I’m ready to go home and others I’m not. God has been helping me sort through a lot of different emotions. All good things.
What are you doing after the race?
Right now that looks like going home spending some time with friends and family and then working on the next adventure.
Any fun stories from this month?
Well my host mom looked over at me the other night and ask that I would preach on the spot. Fortunately, my team-mates translated for me so I could give it in English. I thought those things just happened in Africa…I get by with the help of my friend.
What could you use prayer for?
Honestly, prayer for energy and inspiration. We are on month 10 and it’s so easy for this to just be our lives and not see the beauty in it. Also, processing the race and getting ready to go home.
Anything else exciting that you would like to share?
Umhh, yes. In case you are unaware next month is ARGENTINA!!!!!!!!! I LOVE Argentina and I’m so excited!!!!! Let’s just say my parent’s wouldn’t be shocked if I didn’t come home from Argentina (don’t worry I already bought my ticket home). I lived in Buenos Aires for a semester and loved it so much. I’m so excited that God has opened a door for me to go back. <Insert happy dance here>
Now I have a question for you!
Is there is anything you would like to know about my race, questions about food, travel, countries, etc. Please comment and let me know. I’d be happy to answer them. They would be helpful in preparing for the questions that are waiting for me at home.
