Jesus is calling us into something deeper, something so much bigger than ourselves.

Go and make disciples of all nations- but how do we get there? Baptize in His name-but where do I get that authority? Teach them of God’s commands-but where do I get the ability?

The Great Commission can seem like a list of daunting task. We wonder how this is expected of us by Christ when it is so far out of our reach. Today, I realized something for the first time.

I have focused for so long on fulfilling the Great Commission on my own, but scripture doesn’t stop after Jesus gives instruction. He promises to remain with us!

The one who just defeated death and the grave promises to walk with ME, Mary Elizabeth Cox, as I seek to follow His instruction. That, my friends, is where the opportunity to go, the authority to baptize, and the ability to teach come from!

Outside of Christ, we cannot achieve such great heights-but with Him, the heights of heaven come to earth! When we recognize His presence and power, we realize our purpose.

“Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
