First of all, I cannot even start this blog without saying a HUGE THANK YOU to all of my supporters! I’m truly blessed to have so many wonderful people cheering me on as I take this leap of faith to follow God’s will. Thanks to all of you, I have officially met my first three deadlines! I know this is a long post, but please make you sure read the prayer requests at the end! 🙂
I thought it would be a good idea to give some explanation and insight into my world of fundraising! The World Race requires participants to raise $16,277. This amount covers our medical insurance, most day-to-day expenses, and travel. This amount does NOT cover vaccinations recommended by the CDC, gear, or spending money for off-day adventures or souvenirs. I have read so many times that people originally thought The World Race was not for them because the total “cost” is daunting.
What so many people forget
is that although
$16,277 is a BIG number,
OUR God is BIGGER!
I have done a few different fundraisers to raise support for the Race- Support Letters, T-Shirts, Isagenix, and my April 18th event. I currently have one ongoing fundraiser with a Jamberry consultant, Ila Stuart. She is so graciously donating 10% of all sales to my mission trip if you order through my fundraiser. World Race Account

Gear & Vaccination Fund
Goal: $3,500

Need to Raise: $2,447
*There are two ways you can support my Gear & Vaccination Fund.
1. Donate using cash, check (made out to me), or PayPal. (For donations made via PayPal use the “Send Money to a Friend” option. My PayPal email is marycatherine.grant @ gmail . com.)
2. Purchase an item off of my registry. I am still trying to figure out some of the smaller items, so I will add things as I make decisions about them. Please make sure you mark it as “Purchased.”
Personal Spending Money for Adventures & “Souvenirs”
I will give more details in June if you are interested in donating to my personal spending account once I am on the field. You know, because riding an elephant in Thailand isn’t free! 🙂
I’m at peace. God has far exceeded my expectations so far, and I love being fully dependent on Him. He has obviously worked in the hearts of my donors*, because raising this kind of money is not humanly possible. I will be forever grateful to all of my donors.
*My definition of the noun donor is this:
A donor is someone who…
prays for me and my squad,
gives of their time and energy,
blesses me with financial support or donations of goods/ services,
fully supports me following God’s plan for my life.
Prayer Requests
Please pray for the Racers that are currently on the field. P-Squad, one of my church friend’s squad, was supposed to fly to Kathmandu tomorrow for debrief before spending the next month in Nepal. Their plans are obviously up in the air due to the earthquake. A lot of Racers experience doubt and attack while overseas, including sickness and injuries. Please pray for their safety, peace, and comfort as they spread God’s love across the world.
Please pray for Nepal and the surrounding countries that were also affected by the earthquake. The death toll continues to rise, and the photos are devastating. I am sure it will take years to repair the damage.
Please pray for all of the July squads. We will be heading to Training Camp in just a few weeks. There are two financial deadlines that are quickly approaching, and there are Racers who still need donations to meet those deadlines. Just like the squads that are already in the field, we are also experiencing some physical and emotional attacks. Please pray for safety, peace, and comfort for the July squads as well.
My prayer is that I will be FULLY FUNDED before I leave in July. I know that with God, it is completely possible. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR PRAYERS & DONATIONS!!
