Last month I served in Maputo, Mozambique with my team and team Pursuit. Our month was on the slower side for ministry due to our contact getting stuck in South Africa unable to come back into Mozambique. Our contact is still unable to go home. Please be in prayer for her as she is trying to get home to her kids. We did a few days of gardening work, but mostly invested in our contacts two children, Enia, who is 13 and Popino who is 5. They were such great kids and we had a lot of fun with them. We'd have dance parties after dinner with Enia and Popino. Those two can dance!
Mozambique was a great month for our team in growing in unity and loving each other. We had a lot of time to invest in each other whether we took walks together or watched movies or caught up on Glee. Mikala had her 23rd birthday while we were in Mozambique. So we had a birthday party for her with balloons, a big muffin instead of cake and sang/ yelled Happy birthday all day.

We also had Christmas while in Mozambique. It was the hottest Christmas ever had! We did a Christmas Eve candle lit service and secret Santa's and Mikala cooked all day on Christmas. We had the best meals on Christmas! Everything was made from scratch and we had apple pie for dessert! We had fun shopping for our secret Santa gifts at the local markets and haggling for good prices.

I even hand sewed a stuffed lion for my person. I didn't really know what I was doing and it turned out kinda funny but it was received so well and really made my Christmas special.
We had our month 6 debrief in South Africa outside of Johannesburg. It was a great time of relaxing and filling up on God as a whole squad. Right before debrief I felt that God was placing on my heart that He was about to move in some BIG ways in the next few months while we serve in Asia. He confirmed it with many other people at debrief. I'm super excited for whatever God has in store for my squad! One part of the big change for my team was adding in a new team mate, Lauren Weidley. She is a great woman of God and she brings so much love and nurturing to our team.
