How do honeybees know what to do?
Where to go?
How to get honey?
They just know.
It’s who they are.
It’s how they function.
They can’t do anything else.
It’s not a calling or a career.
It’s who they are.
Honeybees always come back to the hive with good things to share. But they can’t stay for long. They always have to go back out. Home is a place of safety. Of rejuvenation. Of security. Home is good.
But going out is who they were created to be.
You could probably use a honeybee as an analogy for a lot of different things. But for arguments sake, let’s use it as an analogy for missions.
Right now I’m home.
Transition and change is good
(although at times hard).
Home is good.
It’s safe.
It’s life giving.
Home has family, friends, routine, hot showers, work, alone time, and flowers with honeybees. But I know home isn’t forever.
It’s for a season.
‘Going’ isn’t just a one-time, crazy adventure.
It’s not a calling or a career.
It’s who I am.
So right now,
I’m happy to be in my hive.
But like all honeybees,
I’ll be flying back out…eventually.
