“Poetry is the food of love. A fine strong love it may Be. But if it

is only a vague inclination I’m convinced one poor sonnet will kill it stone dead.”

-Pride and Prejudice.

That doesn’t really apply to anything here, thats just my favorite movie/book of all time and I wanted you people to hear it.

I wrote a poem/rambling on about the river where I live this month. Read it. Or else.

The Song of the Zambezi River

Water tumbles over the rocks like a hundred whispered promises,

while God drags his hands through the reeds on the waters edge lazily,

the way a child does on a slow summer day in the fields.

The wind runs through the trees tickling the leaves,

one by one,

their soft laughter echoing in reply.

The hippos sound off as a fog horn bellowing in warning,

their ears flipping the water away like the flap of the cranes’ wings.

The crocodile floats by glinting on the water

as dangerous as a weapon of war,

wearing a sinister smile in anticipation of his prey.

The sun shines on the water,

liquid gold tumbling down in soft waves from the heavens.

Peace floats by on the breeze like a dandelion blown for the hope in it’s wish.

This has been poetry time with Mary.
