It has been 2 weeks in this pink castle called home.
From the first seconds at Mi Casa I could tell that this place was special. The warm welcomes and energy that flooded both the boys and the girls houses instantly made it feel like home.
Now, I could focus on the things I don’t have this month. I could focus on all the things that are not my normal. Because it was definitely an adjustment. But that would be selling this place extremely short and we would be missing the whole point.
This home is overflowing with abundance! An abundance of love, laughter, pupusas, HUGS!, relaxation, learning Spanish, teaching English, coloring, selflessness, games, gratitude, joy, people, more hugs, family and fun!
Knowing each of the kids stories.
It doesn’t make sense.
How can so much abundance come from so much:
Twisted and distorted love.
Abuse
Violence
Manipulation
Pain
Darkness
Brokenness
It doesn’t make sense.
Except it does. It makes sense because we all have the same Father. The one who makes us new creations! The Source of joy and love! If it weren’t for Him life wouldn’t make sense. It is because of Him that we are not our past and we are not what has happened to us. We are family! We are new! We are children of God! These kids fully live in these truths and it is inspiring.
This family of 27 kids: 16 girls and 11 boys has my heart and it as only been 2 weeks. They are some of the strongest, bravest and humble people I have ever met. I am honored to call them friends! It has been the best Christmas present I could have asked for!
Over the next couple of blogs I will be introducing you to some of the kids I have gotten to know and their life stories. I have loved every minute of getting to know each and every one of them. I can’t wait for you to get to know them too and have the potential to play a significant role in their lives (more details on this in future blogs!).
Although, this is just a glimpse into the life I have been living this month and it doesn’t seem to even scratch the surface.
Stay tuned for more!!
I love you all so much! A very Merry Christmas Eve from El Salvador!

Prayer Warriors:
- So much thanks for answered prayers about the Christmas season. Being here with all of the kiddos and celebrating with a big family feels like home in a lot of ways!
- Prayers for my teams health. We all seem to be just a little under the weather these days.
- Prayers that God’s presence would continue to be overwhelming and known in both houses. Also that the kids would be set completely free from the harsh grip of the past and any remnants it has left behind.
