I am so sorry this wrap up for Vietnam is so delayed. I have gotten behind on blogging and am working to catch up. If you read my last blog you know Vietnam was a hard month. But I am glad I was able to work through it and come out the other side stronger. Here is a bit of an over view of what my month in Vietnam looked like.
What city did you stay in? What was your living situation?
- We stayed in Hanoi, Vietnam which is in the northern part of the country. Our living situation was different than any other month so far. We stayed in hostels every night which was a very nice change. We each got our own bed with a curtain for privacy and hot showers and free breakfast!
What was your ministry for this month?
- My team and I did not have a ministry that we partnered with but instead we partnered with directly with the Lord in what is called ATL (Ask The Lord). Each day we woke up and asked God what He had instore for us that day and then went out and did that. We were also looking for other organizations that might be interested in partnering with the World Race in the future.
- So over all our month was full of helping teach English classes, meeting with other ministries to discuss future partnerships, and going out into the city keeping our eyes and ears open for opportunities to share the gospel.
What language do most people speak?
- Most people speak Vietnamese, which is significantly more difficult to learn than Spanish. Thankfully many also speak English and could help us translate.
What foods did you try? What was your favorite?
- Pho, Bun Cha Ta and spring rolls were all so delicious!!
What was the hardest thing about this month?
- The hardest thing this month was surprisingly finding the motivation to do ministry. I learned I do well with structure and a task. This month was full of the unknown and learning to go into each day letting God set the plan and not myself. I struggled with adjusting to this type of lifestyle.
- Also if you haven’t read my last blog and you want to know more about this month, it goes more into the struggles I faced in Vietnam.
What was the best thing about this month?
- My favorite day this month was doing a scavenger hunt with my team as a way to open up more opportunities to interact with people differently than we normally would. This day was full of smiles, laughter, yoga, lunch with strangers, cool conversations and playing with kids. My heart was so full. I loved the days where I gave God complete control and trusted in Him!!
What was unexpected this month?
- The culture. I expected to be shocked and in awe of how different the culture is from what I am used to, but it did not seem all too strange. Yes somethings were new but overall it felt pretty familiar.
- Also the number of tourists that we interacted with in Hanoi was unexpected.
Where did you see Jesus the most?
- I saw Jesus most in His gentle yet persistent pursuit of me this month. He doesn’t back down when things get hard. He loves passionately and disciplines His children and it is incredibly comforting. Jesus doesn’t over look harmful thinking or unhealthy habits. He points them out and then walks through conquering them with you. It is beautiful and overwhelming to get to experience Him on such a personal and intimate level.
Again sorry for the late update, it is hard to believe I am already getting ready to leave Cambodia!! WHAT?!
Stories on life in Cambodia coming soon!
Love you all!

Prayer Warriors:
- My teammate Denae and I have met a woman here in Cambodia that we have been able to get lunch with and get to know over the past couple of weeks. We only have a few more opportunities to meet with her. Please join me in praying that God would guide these conversations towards Him and open our new friends heart and ears to hear the truth that is waiting for her.
I really only have this one prayer request for now. If you would all join in fervently prayer for Radhika, there is so much power in praying in large numbers for one beautiful individual to be welcomed into the family!
