I have been in Thailand for about 3 weeks now. For Thailand ministries we have new teams, so I am working with 4 other girls in the town of Nan. We have been running an English camp, going to the jungle mountains and visiting different tribes, visiting people in their homes and today we went to a prison and shared testimonies and messages with the inmates.
Thailand is hot. There are 3 “seasons” in Thailand and that is hot, hotter and hottest. April just happens to be the hottest month of the year! So I am constantly sweating, but it is worth every drop!
The food is amazing. Coming from Africa where the meals are pretty much the same each day, Thailand is a playground with fresh and new tastes!
The people! The people are so, so sweet. They are polite and kind. Quiet, but love to laugh.
You take your shoes off before entering stores and houses, you bow with your hands in a prayer position to greet one another. You hide your feet, as showing someone your feet is rude, and you never point at someone or touch their heads. Buddhist temples and Buddha statues are everywhere. And last week was Thai New Year where you celebrate by riding around in the back of trucks throwing water on each other!
I just wanted to give you a little taste of Thailand and let you know what I have been up to here!
