You’ve asked questions, here are the answers! (check out my previous blog for the answer to number 1)
- Who will your team be?
- What is your exact Race route?
- When are you leaving?
- Do you have enough support raised to Launch?
- How much support do you have left to raise?
- Who will your leaders/coaches be?
2. What is your exact Race route?
We’ve had a few more changes in our Race route, but here is the “final” route we were given at camp (no worries, it could change again!):
Philippines (September)
Malaysia (October)
Thailand (November)
Cambodia (December)
Kenya (January)
Uganda (February)
Tanzania (March)
India (April)
Nepal (May)
Ukraine (June)
Romania (July)
3. When are you leaving?
WE FINALLY HAVE OUR LAUNCH DATE!! Today has been very exciting :). I will leave the country for the Philippines from LAX on September 13th. Most likely I will leave the Dallas area on the 12th to avoid any issues with weather or delays, but I will keep everyone posted!
4. Do you have enough support raised to Launch? How much support do you have left to raise?
Praise Jesus, I now have enough funding to Launch! God has poured out His blessings exponentially in these past 3 months; I am truly blown away by His provision. I am not fully funded yet, but the $5,500 I have left to raise seems small when compared with the $8,800 already raised! The next 4 weeks are going to be busy busy busy with fundraisers and such; I would love to be fully funded by the time I leave! That way, I would never even have to be a worry that I might have to leave the field early for financial reasons.
Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has given so generously to support me. I can’t wait to go out as your representative of Jesus Christ.
5. Who will your leaders/coaches be?
Everyone, I’d like you to meet Gary and Joey McGinnis, R squad’s coaches! This sweet couple will accompany us to Launch in the Philippines, and will be our prayer warriors throughout these next 11 months. They won’t always be with us on the field (mostly just at debriefs throughout the year), but I know they will always be with us in spirit, encouraging us and offering their wisdom and guidance. I have already been so blessed by these two, and I know I will continue to be!
Meet our Squad leaders…
Di Dinnis and Tim Dixon are two of the most awesome people I have ever met! R squad is truly blessed to have these two individuals to lead us out and train us up this year. Tim and Di were squadmates on the January 2009 Race, and are now offering themselves up to the Lord again as leaders to the September 2010 R squad. They will accompany us on the field for the first 4 months of the Race, train & raise up new leaders from within the squad, and then let us fly. Their presence will constantly be there with us, I know, because of their deep love for each person on our squad. I can’t wait to learn from and grow alongside them!
Love you guys 🙂
Those are all the updates for now, thanks for bearing with me! Over the next 4 weeks I would love as many prayers and encouragements as possible as the Lord prepares my heart for this journey. Thank you all so much for your love and support; I am blessed by you in more ways than you know.
