Today I helped with joy club. This is New Life Fellowships outreach to the street kids.
We sang songs and they did a bible lesson on what I don’t know because I don’t speak the language. I did puppets and helped with getting the music ready.
Got to love iPods. It was a bit chaotic but that is the way it goes when you work with street kids. Overall it went really well. The kids responded during the lesson… this seemed to be the only part of the day they did listen. I guess if I had to pick, this is the one I would want them to pay attention to. We only had about sixty kids because another group that helps out in the slums was doing something that day. This made for a manageable day as far as the numbers go.
I
was excited to see some of the kids from my slum visit show up here. When they come they get to hear about Jesus, get cleaned up, eat and have some fun. A good combination. It was a fun tim
e for me and the kids. I love working with the kids they hang all over me and want to play. It’s nice to see that even though they have a hard life and much responsibility, they can stop and just be kids here at Joy Club.
