So it’s been a month since I made the
journey from Costa Rica to home in South Carolina. Many people told
me that it may be hard to adjust back to American culture, so I have
taken a non-traditional approach. Only a week after being home I
headed back to Europe with my teammate Jeff and visited some friends
and went to the Awakening conference in Romania. The Awakening was
so awesome. All the racers from all the currently launched squads
were there. There were almost 250 of us with the coaches and alumni
included. It was awesome to catch up with my good friends Chad &
Leslie and rub shoulders with current and former racers. I was
greatly encouraged during my time there and it helped me settle some
questions I had been musing.
August I have been praying and thinking about leading another World
Race squad leaving in January. My first thought was that this was
too big a task for me and God reminded me that although it is, it’s
not too big for Him. I thought of the Awakening as a test run of
sorts to wrap my mind around what it would be like to lead a squad.
I was excited and humbled at the possibility of heading out again in
just three short months. After a couple of days at home with more
prayer and seeking the Lord, I felt peace about it. I made the call
saying I was willing and able to go in January!
In just a couple of weeks I will head
to Gainesville, Georgia, for January’s Training Camp. I’m looking
forward to meeting the 110+ people I will traveling the world with.
I pray that it will be a transforming and empowering time for all the
future racers and I expect to come away from training excited and
ready to head out and reveal even more of God’s kingdom in January!
As a squad leader I will be gone for at
least four months. I will meet the squad after six months and then
again at the conclusion of their race. This is not a paid position
so I am raising support once again. I’m not sure yet of the exact
amount, but I’m certain it’s going to be a little more than the $47
that is currently in my support account! Will you prayerfully
