So I have started and erased the beginning of this blog five times now. I don't truly know what to write about. However, I feel bad for having left you all in the dark this last month as we have been working with Zions Gate ministries in Honduras, so I have to write something.
Here you go.
Zions Gate is a fantastic ministry run by a man named Tony. He has turned what use to be a popular bar on 10 achers of property in to a safe haven for street kids from the local colony of Los Pinos. He currently has 10-15 kids living with him and his wife on the property ranging from ten, or so, to twenty four years old.
Each child is free to leave at any point they wish. But most stay and will tell you it is because of something different they experience while living with Tony. That something I believe is the Holy Spirit at work.
These boys are'nt receiving a "hand out". The younger ones are in school and the older ones are put to work either on the property or work with Tony at the ministry. These boys are being blessed by what Tony is doing. He is giving them a opportunity to not only enjoy this life but to have a chance to experience Christ and understand the love we have been given through Him.
Most of these kids have had a tough childhood. Some have abused paint thinner in the past, some marijuana. Most of the boys don't have a mom, dad, or both. All of them are yearning for love and have come to the light given by Tony.
I feel blessed to be able to work along side Tony in his ministry this past month.
Thank you to my supports and my brothers and sisters in Christ for your prayers.
If internet is available I will do my best to keep you informed about our work in Romania.
I love you all and pray you chose to love one another daily.
God bless, Mark
