I don’t know if you believe this or not, but God really likes you.
This is what He has been speaking to me. He likes me!
I have known for some time that God loves me and showed that in Christ, but I struggled to believe He liked me and was pleased with me.
But hear this revelation I received last night from the psalms.
“Many, O LORD my God, are your wonderful works which you have done; And all Your thoughts towards us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
Psalm 139:17-18
"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I am awake, I am still with You."
Now if you are a guy I want you to imagine a girl who you have had a crush on, a girl you have really liked.
Ladies here is some insight into a guys head, I imagine you think similarly. But really I have no idea…
When you have a crush on a girl you think about her often; too often.
The countless list of things you find attractive about her continually run through your mind. From superficial things like the way she smiles, laughs, her walk, how enchanted you are with her when she sings, to the way her hair falls.
These things are beautiful.
But then you have the really enticing things about her. Like the fact that she knows her beauty isn’t in the superficial things.
You love the way she sees people.
How she sees her Savior and Creator, Jesus, in these people.
You like the way she challenges you.
You like that the questions she asks make you think.
You find it crazy that through her you see God in a new way.
You like that above anything else she wants to love Jesus with all that she is!
What I am getting at is that your thoughts for her are beyond measure.
Beautiful thoughts
Now on the contrary, you don’t meditate on the things you dislike about her. These thoughts arise. And they are few.
However, you are willing to overlook them, forgive them, because you see so much beauty in her. And you want her to see this beauty as well. You want her to see just how beautiful she really is.
This is how God is towards you!
He knows your flaws, but He sees your beauty. The thoughts He has towards you are good.
He delights in the beautiful man or women He, Himself, made!
