It’s been a couple months since I updated you on how prep is going, so here’s the latest on the equipment and fundraising situation:
Including what is on it’s way and what the monthly pledges amount to all together, I have $8935 US raised, leaving $4065 still to be raised. Just 8 more people pledging $50/month and I’ll make it!
I now have my gear, insurance and plane ticket all covered, though if I don’t sell my car soon I may not be able to pay for the visa bill 😛 Please pray that it and my snowboard sell soon. On another note, my bed and my TV have both been sold!
What I’m still looking for is a laptop or palm pilot with a compact keyboard for me and my team to write blog posts and store pictures on. I’m out of money for these things, so I can’t buy one – if you hear of anyone that may be able to help, please let me know.
I’ll be leaving BC in 2 weeks, first to spend a few days with friends in Indiana before getting to training in Georgia on the 30th, and then on September 12th we fly to Bangkok! While on the field there will still be need for things like airmiles, extra donations for specific ministry opportunities (i.e. bibles for a school, blankets for a shelter, etc.), and who knows what else, so if you were looking to make non-monetary donations but missed out, let me know what you were thinking as there may be a need down the road.
