In September 2007 Pastor Ezekiel, the head of the Mnaka
Orphanage in Muturara Mozambique at the time, was murdered for sharing the
gospel with local Muslims. Since then his wife has carried on looking after the
40 kids at the orphanage with the help of a few others. More recently, the
orphanage had to be evacuated as the catastrophic floods hitting Mozambique
took away their home. All 40 of the orphans are living in one room together,
and in the last few weeks tragedy has struck again as three of the children
died in close succession from malaria. Needless to say, this family is in need,
and our hope is to meet some of that need.

Our initial plan is to travel to Muturara with food supplies
for the orphanage and to lend ourselves in service to the children, staff, and
surrounding community in whatever ways we can for two to three weeks. But we
want to do more than that – if we can raise $5000 by Friday the plan is to pay
for the construction of a new orphanage that’s properly built and in a safer
area. We want to build a safe home for these kids that have been through so
much. We are also working on getting as many medical supplies and as much
sports equipment or toys together for them as well, so if we raise above the
$5000 the extra funds will go towards those things.

So here’s the deal: in looking at going through official
channels, paypal, and several other online options for taking in donations,
it’s been concluded that we wouldn’t be able to actually receive any funds
people sent in those ways before, well, mid March. So we’re going the direct route: if you
would like to help out with this email me and I will give you my parent’s
contact info. They will arrange to take in donations and send them directly to
us here. This won’t be through official channels, so there won’t be any tax
receipts available, so if that’s an issue I do apologize, but time crunches
will do that. Also, if you’re not in BC or close to it, let me know where you are and I can direct you somewhere closer to you.

Please keep this lifted up in prayer! We need your prayers
in every way, and we’re exited to see how God will move through this. I will
keep you posted here on the progress as much as I can whenever we have access
to the net.
