Christian hypocrites, we all know them, we all are annoyed by them, and we are one of them some point in time. I want to talk about the ones who have to announce how “holy”, “loyal” or “faithful” they are. In my opinion people who have to announce what they are you are typically not. If you have to verbally say what traits you have, your actions aren’t speaking for themselves.

How can someone be so rude to someone and then go to church without feeling any conviction that morning? It’s so frustrating! As followers of Christ we are thrown into a group with people who call themselves “Christians” that don’t truly follow the Lord. Then others call us ALL hypocrites.

As frustrating as it is, we need to be heart broke for those people because they are the ones who think they know the Lord, but really don’t. They are the ones who will go to heaven and hear the saddest words in history, “I never knew you. Away from me.” Matthew 7:23 (NIV)

The church is the most unreached, known people group. Guys this breaks my heart! How do you share heart knowledge with someone who has the brain knowledge in the same subject? This is why it’s so important to be aware of our actions and how we handle things. People are watching us, not only nonbelievers but also “believers”. St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach always and if you have to use your words.” Building trust and acting Christ like, will bring curiosity to the people watching you. From there they know they can trust you and who you are to ask you questions like, “Why you act the way you do?” or “Why are you so nice to them even though they are mean to you?” That is when you are able to tell them about the gospel of Christ.

In order to do this you have to have a relationship with people. Relationships are a mirror image of Christ. Jesus loved his disciples not just because they followed him but because they were his friends. It shows time and time again in the word that Jesus pulled his disciples away for one on one time. The best part of learning who the Lord is, is by having a personal relationship to him. In order to show someone how to have a personal relationship with the Lord you first have to show them how to have a personal relationship with one another.

Guys we have to model the Lord to others, they are counting on us, He is counting on us. For the past two nights, I’ve had dreams where my “friends” have turned against me and I was shown how to handle it through simple acts. One of my dreams had a friend throw a stone as hard as she could. I caught it, I remember being so saddened, then mad that she did that. Instead of throwing the stone back at her, I just dropped the stone. In my next dream, I was being insulted by a friend, while getting in the car, at a gas station. Behind my car was a man, he was digging in his wallet for money to get gas. I went up to him, while my friend is still yelling insults at me, I reached in my pocket and pulled out all the money and put it in the man’s hand. He just looked at me, I put my hand on his shoulder, gave him a warm smile, and walked away.

Yes people are mean to us, people we don’t expect to treat people badly, do. But that can’t stop our ministry. That cant effect us in the way we treat others. We must always walk in love because God is love. I want to challenge you to give the people around you, friends or strangers Godly love this week.
